Truth About Tech: Solutions for Digital Well-Being

  • Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies (map)

What if the digital world worked better for its youngest users?

Media and technology are at the very center of our lives today—especially our children’s. The content they consume and create has a profound impact on their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development, which has made learning how to use media and technology safely and responsibly an essential skill for life and learning.

At the second annual Truth About Tech conference in Washington, D.C., Common Sense is leading the conversation around the present—and future—of kids' digital well-being. By engaging policymakers, educators, technologists, and child health experts, we can work together to identify and back solutions for technology that supports its youngest and most vulnerable users: kids.

In partnership with Georgetown University, Common Sense is convening a broad range of experts across sectors to reflect on these ever-evolving issues, explore new opportunities, and learn from each others' successes, challenges, and unique perspectives.

TransTech Conference

Transformative Technologies are medically and scientifically validated technologies supporting mental health, wellbeing and thriving. We are the largest global community of entrepreneurs and innovators leveraging tech to expand human joy and possibility. We gather, connect, and inspire our global community in order to stimulate the development of scalable transformative technologies. This year's theme: Our world is experiencing tremendous social, political, economic, and technological change. Navigating this change requires that we ask the right questions and address the deepest human needs. Where human thriving, psychological wellbeing, and resolving fundamental questions of meaning or what it truly means to be human might once have been considered luxuries – they will be a requirement for the future of society, work and human consciousness. The universality of this requirement suggests a key role for technology that is scalable, accessible, affordable, ethical, and human centered.
